You can honor your past, it was your journey. Just don’t drown in it.

Most people tell me to leave my past alone because they feel uncomfortable by not embracing their stories. We all are some kind of Tetris that has pieces that don’t quite match our idea of being alive. Bad memories happen, and we have to acknowledge them, not as the strength that they once had but because of our choice to use them to evolve ourselves.

There are two ways of evolution, you can be proud of a bad moment just because you survived and that made you stronger. Be proud of today, all your pieces of that game made you a beautiful soul — or maybe the worst one. No matter what you are, as long as you’re following your path and not frozen in the past. Remember it, and use it to inspire others to overcome their challenges since this life is too little to be wasted not being yourself.

You can honor your past, it was your journey. Just don’t drown in it.
