People calling each other “bro”has lost all meaning, and needs to stop

The original idea between calling someone “bro” was to imply a strong connection, like a surrogate brother. Like frat bros . I personally find it really stupid and cringey, but that’s just me.

Unfortunately, we’re way past that point now, people are now just calling each other bro who don’t know each other, or use bro to refer to anyone and everyone regardless of context.

Ive seen bar fights that start with one guy saying, “what’s your problem, bro?” People on Reddit, who have never met, refer to each other as “bro”. I hear teenage GIRLS at Starbucks saying to each other, “I’m like, bro, that’s why no one likes you,”

Can we all just stop? For real, bro

EDIT: This goes beyond simple semantics. I think most people here would agree that “bro culture” is detrimental for lots of people and should be minimized/eliminated. If you feel that way, and you’re still going around calling people “bro”, you’re normalizing the term, thereby making your goal that much harder.
